As a manager, every now and then you come across a true shooting star like Rowena. And like a once in a lifetime experience, this is not something to be taken lightly or for granted. Rowena is the epitome of an excellent employee and could have written a "How to..." on what it entails to be a brand ambassador. Starting with her presence, she walks in a room and her energy and polish grasps your attention before she even opens up her mouth. You are then wowed with her knowledge, tone and diction as she makes you feel like a friend conversing with a friend, while remaining professional. Rowena has the white rabbit that we are all seeking in our personal and professional lives; she has "balance".
Rowena holds a permanent position on my "special team". Individuals are strategically selected to represent our premiere brands for high net worth and profile events, such as festivals, private tastings, conventions and celebrity events. Rowena's ability to adapt in diverse environments and flexibility with a variety of tasks deems her a chameleon and one to be trusted with anything you throw her way. In the spirit of a true professional, Rowena receives feedback and criticism well, by digesting what's shared, responding with gratitude and taking heed accordingly. Additionally, Rowena is a self-starter that works well alone with little direction and a great leader while working with teams. Her work ethic is infections and raises the bar for everyone around her. She is a true asset to any team or company, as she impacted the lives of so many of her colleagues at Strategic Group, including mine.

Rowena worked with me as a Quality Assurance Tester (QAT) on the Ongoing Content Team (OCT) within the QA department at Sony Interactive Entertainment of America LLC (SIEA) in Sorrento Valley. She brought to all of her tasks energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. Be it in the researching and submitting of defects within our databases, presenting high level metrics of her tasks within our team stand-ups, or the establishment of best practices within small to medium sub-groups on the team, Rowena consistently delivered high-quality performance for our team as well as our department. This speaks to her overall intellect and ability to learn, attributes that will serve her well in her future endeavors. While she was a contingent tester in our department, she quickly established herself as a go-to person in the technical domains in which she had worked. She has been ever-willing to work with members of our team to share her knowledge and expertise, most notably as an advocate of our PlayStation 3, 4, PS Vita consoles and automation testing processes.
Rowena has a deep-rooted spirit of helpfulness coupled with her quick grasp of subject matter, speaks well to her potential as a leader of any project. What I find most engaging in Rowena's character is her interests outside of functional testing in the video-game industry. She can be quickly engaged in an in-depth discussion of the ease of progressing through menu workflows, the necessity of extended options for ease of use, or the optimal approach for testing procedures on non-gaming applications (something that was newly implemented into our testing rapport at the time). Rowena's broad range of interests speaks well to her potential as a researcher, both in bringing a wide range of theory to the processes and procedures at hand, as well as carrying forward new hypotheses of interest to developers and producers alike.
Rowena was a valued member of our team whom we have learned we could rely on, regardless of the difficulty of the task at hand or the novelty of the challenge. Her combination of intelligence, commitment, perseverance, creativity, and compassion will certainly make her a valuable member of any venture she sees fit to pursue.
