My name is Rowena Bautista & I'm a Senior International Business major at San Diego State University with an emphasis on marketing and Japanese language. I'm set to study abroad at Sophia University in Tokyo, Spring 2021.

From a young age, I shared the hobby of video games with my father. I would be gifted new consoles & games if I kept up good grades, so I always maintained top scores in class while owning the latest systems. This passion led me to work for Sony as a game test analyst after completing high school. While I learned a lot working for SCEA, I became aware of my strengths of communicating ideas, leading workflows, and management. It was then I realized I needed to complete my undergrad and pursue greater challenges.

I gained an Associate degree in Business Administration at Southwestern College. A professor who taught the The Legal Environment of Business course piqued my interest in working with luxury spirits from a case study, so I pursued work with agencies promoting them. Appreciative of my time at Sony, I continued to sharpen my management & communication skills I learned there to Havas Street, Strategic Group, & many other marketing agencies.

As I transferred to San Diego State University, I worked part-time in promotions. My jobs entail leading teams to promote products in conventions, day and night clubs. I ensure we reach projected sales goals, accumulate consumer feedback, & write reports of key point indicator measures. At this time I also became Wine & Spirit Education Trust certified to level 2 to ensure I would be able to properly explain notes and pairings of beverages.

Due to COVID-19, event marketing jobs have slowed down, so I've returned to my roots of gaming by starting a twitch channel & managing my community through discord. By becoming an affiliate streamer, I'm learning more about marketing in a digital space in addition to attending classes fully online.

My goals are to stay within the industries of gaming and luxury spirits. With my years of team leadership experience & knowledge gained of managing my own twitch community, I aim to work as a brand community manager after graduating, in addition to applying for graduate school to earn an MBA.

My dream is to become a product manager; to be able to bridge gaming & luxury spirits industries by overseeing projects like a collaboration of a AAA title including a premium spirit in their collector's edition release.
